Don't want to be just another stepford wife

New York weddings are great, in fact, they can be grand events. However, I can't help but feel that some weddings look identical to each other, just trade out the bride and groom.

I mean for the most part, New Yorker's are pretty much set up once they sign the contract to their venue {depending on where it's held}. They have their catering, liquor, cocktail hour, wedding cake, table linens, and sometimes even chair covers. If they're lucky, they may even get a chocolate fountain or specialty bar drink thrown in. Nothing else to do, right? Wrong.

I'm determined as a bride and planner to set my wedding apart from the rest, and incorporate the personality and style of Mr.Golden and I. What's even better is that I don't feel like I have to go over the top {or deep in my wallet} to do so. The secret is in the details.

Detail #1 that I'm coveting: Charger Plates
I think charger plates are a great way to spruce up a table and incorporate a wedding color. They can be on the pricey side considering one is placed at every setting, but this is one area I'm willing to sacrifice.

Now the way I see it, a girl has got a right to dream {and boy oh boy, I'm a dreamer!}.

But realistically, this is the look my budget will probably be able to pull off for a guest list of 150 people {not as elaborate, but will definitely make a statement with all the other details I plan to incorporate in the tablescape}.

I really love the pics of chargers you have! I really want chargers also. My venue charges about 1-$1.50 to add them to a package. Is that expensive or about the going rate. I'm not really sure what is normal.

Thanks for sharing!

Hi Authentically U! The price you mentioned is actually a really good price, especially if it's closer to $1 than $1.50! :-)

Hi Hannah!

Ya know, I have to agree with you. I really love the first ones as well {but w/ gold beading}, I am crunching numbers in my budget as I type to accomodate them! Cross your fingers for me!

Thanks ladies for your comments!!!

Chargers are a great way to change the look of an ordinary place setting. Depending on your budget and guidelines of your venue, you might consider purchasing your chargers yourself. I suggest your local Michael’s, Old Time Pottery, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, or even the dollar store (shhh, I know that last one might be a shocker, but it is hit or miss with them.)

Best of luck!!!! And congrats on your engagement.
