Graphic Designer: Check!

My search for a graphic designer to design and process my wedding invitations went ever so smooth. Not only are they halfway paid for, but the stationer is going to start on the custom design concept this week. The printing production won't start until the beginning of next year because 1) I don't have the room to store them, and 2) I don't want the paper to fade or experience any other horrific ordeals.

I decided on thermography style printing. I absolutely love the way the raised lettering and images feel and the glossy look to it. The image below shows an example of how thermography printing looks, but the picture doesn't really do it justice.

I didn't totally escape the diy process of invites, I will still have to assemble them and package them up {which is nothing is comparison to what I was going to do before}. I've also been toying with the thought of calligraphy, but as of now, pretty lables sound like a great plan.

In the meantime, I'm embarrased to admit that I have yet to start collecting people's addresses for the guest list. I don't know what I'm waiting for, but this something I need to start on ASAP.

Invitations On The Brain

Lately, invitations have been on my mind. This was an area that originally I was going to do myself. However, with the recent influx of things added to my already crazy schedule, I've decided that I want no parts. That's the first rule to being a smart and practical bride. Know when something is too much to deal with and don't be ashamed to ask for help.

I will still be doing my STD's, programs and menus but when it comes to invites I don't want any association with the printing, cutting, adhesive, nada! Well actually, that's a far stretch, I will have some minor involvement, but nothing major.

So what's next? A graphic designer, but of course! I know exactly what I want but just need someone to create my vision. The invitation below is not mine nor does it resemble what I want, but I love the colors and texture of it. I'll keep you all posted on this new found decision of mine.

May the Force Be With Me!

In just a few short months I will be undergoing a major mission- a task many have tried to conquer, but only a few have survived to talk about. I will need much preparation and the best equipment know to mankind.

You're probably thinking that I'm about to climb Mount Everest, and your guess is close. But really, I will be deciphering RSVP's for my invites! From past experience I can't believe how many people will fail to put a return address on the envelope. For past events, I have received RSVP's that said "yes we're coming!" yet I had no idea who "we" was.

After searching high and low, I think I found the go-go gadget I've been missing in my life. Feast your eyes on the future {lol}:

This secret decoder pen should be strong enough for my mission, but it is actually made for children {they have it so good!}. I found it at U.S. Toy Company and I plan to test it out first to see if it will still decode messages after 8 weeks. If I have the green light to proceed, each RSVP will be given a number that corresponds with the guest using the secret ink. As I get back RSVP's with no name, I'll use the decoder to see who the anonymous responder is.

Scene: Invitations...Take 3...Action!

Over the weekend I ordered samples of what will hopefully make up part of my invitations. I don't have the full design figured out, but little by little I'm getting there. This will be part II {actually part III, but I plead the 5th on that!} for me with invitations so I'm taking it slow this time around!

I can't wait until this wedding is over so I can get my sanity back!

A Sneak Peek!

My upcoming bridesmaid luncheon has been the attention of quite a few of my threads. I've posted here , here , yet again , another , and another. As you can see, I'm anticipating it to be a really nice {but laid back} affair. The way I see it, this luncheon will be pretty much kick start the activities of my wedding.

Now that the invites have been officially put in the mail, I can finally share them with you all!

Each of my special ladies will receive a gold pocket sleeve envelope:
